Hig Gas Price: Consider Toyota (TM) and Honda (HMC)

4-23-08: As gas price approaches $4 per gallon, everyone is hurting. Some folks have turned to politicians in the hope of some magic solution. To the dismay of some folks, there is little that can be done in terms of legislation. We are at the mercy of the market.  It doesn’t matter who is in office, being a Democrat or Republican, they won’t be able to lower our gas price.  This is the hard truth, we should just get used to it.

Instead of depending on politicians to bails us out, there is actually something we can do.  We can continue to complain and hope prices will drop, which is essentially sticking to our current ways of living or we can adjust to the situation. It is our hope most will find a way to adjust.  Adjust we must, there is no ways around it.

We are encouraged by a recent article which reported a large jump in the sales of hybrid vehicles.  Toyota’s Prius appears to be the choice of consumers. With no relief in sight, sales of hybrids will only continue to grow. Toyota Motors is the clear leader but Honda Motors is also a player.  Trading a little above $100 and $30 per share respectively, we believed both of these companies will continue to do well.
